Bodie: Is a  1 year old  male ,  Belgian Malinois.   He weighs in at 70 pounds.  Fostered in North Carolina.  He’s been recently neutered: October 10 th , 2022.  In Bodie’s first year of life he’s been passed around several times to inexperienced handlers leading him into rescue life.   When Bodie first arrived to us his energy levels were through the roof.  He would easily become mouthy if excited.   Over  the last few months Bodie has been with our family he has made himself at home.  He loves having 3 other dogs to run and play with constantly.  Bodie  has responded very well with daily exercise, boundaries, and lots of love.  He is your typical energetic young Malinois .  He has shown no aggressive behavior while with us.   We have had many visitors during this time including my  19 year old  autistic nephew who makes lots of surprise ,  loud noises.  Bodie was great with everyone.   Bodie has light experience with children but has responded well when occasionally in that situation.  Bodie has not been around any cats while in our home but has walked through that cat area at the shelter and did fine from what we were told.  

Bodie loves food.  He came to us underweight but has been steadily gaining.  During  meal times  he sits and waits while meals are placed out and digs in once given the go ahead.  He has not shown any food aggression.  When taking treats from our hands Bodie does get a little over excited but we continue to work on this.   He does best with a flat open palm and coming in closer to the ground rather from eye level or higher.  Bodie has had issues with diarrhea and soft stool.  He has been treated by the vet for this.  We have been mixing in white rice with his kibble which seems to help.  

Bodie is excellent when it comes to house training.  He has never had an accident inside.  We do have a doggy door he has adapted well to.  Bodie looks forward to his daily walks and walks very well on leash with a pinch.  Bodie’s favorite things are playing fetch with a ball and tug toys with the other dogs.   

He is the best cuddler we have!   After an active day Bodie loves nothing more than to cuddle into our laps and soak up all the love.  He is happiest when he is with his people.  Bodie is crate trained.
