Meet Bonnie, she’s being fostered in FL.

Wouldn’t you just love an affectionate, cuddly Mal Gal who is also an athletic, confident little pocket rocket?
Bonnie is a 16-month old (BD 8/22/21) who just loves to snuggle but she wants you to know she is not “soft”. She is a rough and tumble kind of girl who loves to please and is ready for anything.

Weighing in at a very muscular 50 lbs and just 21 inches, Bonnie will work for praise. She doesn’t have toy or even treat drive at this point, though that will likely change with more training and bonding with her special person. What she REALLY wants is to have a special person and will work hard to hear you say, “good girl.”

Bonnie came into rescue as a street stray. Although her owner was found, he said he didn’t want her because she kept escaping. While it is true that she works to find her way out of fences – ONLY IF her person is on the other side, she will run straight to you and skid into a sit right at your feet! If you are at home and she is in the yard, she does not want to leave – she just wants in to be with YOU!

Bonnie can be a pushy adolescent, who can be pesky with other dogs who run. She will quickly tire of dogs who don’t run and leave them alone (BORING!). But she plays hard with running dogs and can be a bit rough. She would do best with another confident dog (large, male maybe?) who can keep up with her and even put her in her place when she gets out of line.

Because of her tendency to run over other running creatures, placement with small children is not advised. Also, she has a strong prey drive, so cats and other small animals are also not recommended.

She settles nicely inside, and crates nicely at night, sleeping in your room with not even a peep once you come to bed too. She does not like being left alone, but that is common for Malinois. Chew toys and bones filled with peanut butter help keep her occupied. She is well behaved with other dogs inside, waiting her turn for treats and dinner, and basically just chilling with the pack.

Bonnie rides well, settling quickly and being so quiet, you might forget she is there. She is also exceptionally polite in public and enjoys meeting other people whom she greets gently with just a paw before asking for a belly rub.

She is a true “take me with you” girl. Bonnie has been learning house rules, but still needs some supervision or she will get into mischief – her favorite diversion is shredding paper. You may note in her picture that it looks like she is missing a piece of her left ear. She has it all, but it was torn, and a portion healed backwards. It doesn’t bother her, and we think it adds character to this gorgeous red girl.

Bonnie, first and foremost, wants a home as devoted to her as she is to them. ARE YOU THAT HOME, if so please go to our website and fill out an adoption application and submit ♥️
